Biffy Clyro is one of the biggest Rock bands on the planet. No, really. Seriously. Not kidding. Just not in the United States. And, you may ask, is that the case? Well, we aren’t sure, but one thing is for sure, their new single “Howl”
is a great song, with amazing harmonies and hooks, reminiscent of Dave Grohl and the almighty Foo’s. And, maybe, just maybe, this is the song that launches these guys in the States as a ‘big deal.’
Biffy Clyro is Scottish, and are led by Simon Neil, who sings and plays guitar. His band mates, James Johnston on bass and vocals, Ben Johnston on drums and vocals, have dropped their new album titled ‘Ellipsis’, in the last year. It’s damn good. Great harmonies, sing along anthems, and amazing musicianship. Biffy Clyro have dominated in Europe. They have released multiple albums sold millions. They have headlined tours and festivals. Number one albums, huge accolades. But like many European or English acts that dominate in Europe, and not in the States, they continue to build their empire here. Think of Muse, it has taken years for Muse to connect in the States, and they still aren’t as big here as they are in England. Will this be the song to do it? Well, here at the X, we think these guys deserve attention, how can millions of Rock fans in Europe be wrong, right? Enjoy!
