The ‘Music Matters Campaign’ has been a major part of my morning show for nine years. Each Christmas-New Year’s season, we give away musical instruments to students in need in Central Illinois. For this year, we are giving away three guitars, and this time around, we are including amps and other goodies!

Our amazing friends at Flores Music in Peoria and Pekin are our partners again this year, head there for instruments of all sorts, and lessons! So, the instruments we are giving away are two ‘Eastwood Guitars’, and a ‘Airline Map’ bass guitar, all three are complimented with ‘gig bags’, two ‘Blackstar’ amps, and one ‘Peavey’ amp!! Wow! These are amazing guitars, beautifully crafted, and here for a student in need for 2017!

So, this is where we need YOU. Do you know a student in need, who would love the gift of music? Maybe it’s a student at your kid’s school, your Church, a neighbor kid. This student might be your own child, or a niece or nephew. There are far too many students who are struggling, and have many obstacles in front of them. Those challenges could be financial, a medical crisis, or maybe they have faced tragedies or losses in their life. Please tell us their story here. The rules are this, all student submissions must be with a student in a school in the 105-7-The-X listening area, and the ages for consideration are ages 6 to 17. Please be honest, and let us know why they would love a new guitar this new year. We will be giving away the instruments, by surprise, at Flores Music in Peoria on Saturday January 21st!
