Sad news, Peoria Rock fans. Guitar legend Jeff Beck has passed away at the age of 78 from bacterial meningitis. Beck, known as one of the very best guitar players that exploded out the 1960’s music scene, was a member of the Yardbirds, and his own band, The Jeff Beck Group, which featured a young Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood. Beck was one of a kind, and was consistently considered one of the best guitarists in Rock history. He was innovative and unique. Beck won 8 Grammy’s over the years, and is a member of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Loads of accolades are flooding in from multiple Rock legends such as Jimmy Page, Mick Jagger, Ozzy Osbourne, David Gilmour, Ronnie Wood, and countless others. This past year, Jeff worked with Johnny Depp and played shows with Depp, and he also played on Ozzy Osbourne’s new album, “Patient No. 9.” Sad news indeed, Peoria Rockers. He will be greatly missed.
