Chris Cornell is finally getting the tribute concert he deserves and the line up will blow your mind.
I Am the Highway: A Tribute to Chris Cornell will take place on January 16th at the Forum in Los Angeles and feature members of his three bands: Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog. Also set to perform are the Foo Fighters, Metallica and Jimmy Kimmel will host the tribute concert.
Cornell’s widow Vicky says his family is “honored to have all these amazing artists and friends come together to pay tribute to and show their love and appreciation for Chris, his music and the mark he’s left on the world.”
The show will benefit the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation, which works to protect vulnerable children. Chris and Vicky had worked to raise a lot of money for homeless, abused and neglected children over the years. It’s nice to see that Vicky continues to do so not just with this announcement but just this past weekend she also pledged $20,000 for a New York charity to protect children. The tribute concert will also benefit the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation, which raises funds for and awareness of this genetic disorder
