Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong debuted his side project The Longshot this past Friday night when the group did its first live show.
They performed at 1-2-3-4 Go! Records in Oakland, California, playing a set that featured the 11 songs from their self-titled debut EP which was quietly released on digital services last week. At the show they also played Green Day’s rarely played “Fell for You” and covers of songs by David Bowie, The Nerves and Generation X. The lineup included Green Day touring guitarist Jeff Matika on bass and background vocals, as well as guitarist Kevin Preston and drummer David S. Field.
As far as a full-length album, that is called Love Is For Losers, which according to the bands Instagram page is “coming eventually sooner or later. Probably sooner.”
