Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins recently compared Nickelback to to porn on a podcast with Joe Rogan. Joe was discussing Nickelback and the band’s issues with being a ‘punchline’, and that sparked Billy to go on a rant. Billy called Chad Kroeger an “incredible songwriter”, and added, “I don’t know enough about their world, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong if that’s who you want to be. Pop is dedicated on satisfying” Billy then dropped an interesting take. “I’ve said many times pop is porn. It’s porn, they want to get you off. It’s just how they’re going to get you off. I’m not that concerned with getting you off, I’m just not.”

Well, thankfully, Billy, we don’t really want you for that either. I think I get his point on the effects of pop music and Nickelback overall, however, maybe we could have thought of another way to explain it? Just sayin…….anyway.
