Save some money on mulch for your gardens and landscaping projects with the annual Public Works FREE Mulch Giveaway. The event will be held on Saturday, May 1 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Peoria Public Works located at 3505 N. Dries Lane. Much of the mulch was generated from the January ice storm that lefts limbs and branches scattered across the City. 
 
“This is a free service we’re proud to provide to our Peoria City and County residents,” said Sie Maroon, Deputy Director of Operations. “We hope residents will come and take advantage of this natural biproduct of our downed storm debris and daily tree operations.” 
 
Instructions: 

·        Peoria City and County residents are eligible to participate. 

·        Participants are encouraged to bring their own work gloves, shovels and bags/containers to help collect and haul away the mulch. 

·        There is no limit to how much mulch residents can take. 

·        Residents can also load trucks and trailers.
