Pearl Jam Announce Two ‘Home Shows’ At Safeco Field In Seattle This Summer

Eddie Vedder and the guys in Pearl Jam have always loved their hometown of Seattle, Washington. The band has been involved in community organizations and causes since their beginning in the early 1990’s. Yesterday, the band announced two shows at Safeco Field in Seattle, the home of the Seattle Mariners. The band has titled the shows, as the “Home Shows”, on August 8th, and August 10th. The band is using the two night stand as to put a spotlight on the homelessness in the Seattle area. They are pledging a minimum one million dollars to local initiatives addressing the issue in 2018.

Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard said the following, “Seattle is our hometown. When there are challenges here, we want to be part of the solution.” He continued, “It’s heartening that so many organizations and individuals  are coming together to do the same, it’s going to take all of us.” No word on whether Pearl Jam will be launching any more shows in 2018. Also, rumblings about new music from the band haven’t been confirmed. Pearl Jam’s last album was in 2013.
