So, in the last 24 hours, there has been a flurry of speculation that Robert James Ritchie, A.K.A., “Kid Rock”, is running for the Senate seat in Michigan. What? Yep! There is a web site devoted to his alleged Senate run, with a banner and yard sign that reads, “Kid Rock 18 For U.S. Senate.” When asked yesterday about the validity of this web site, Kid Rock didn’t deny it, or say it was false. “I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real…..the answer is an absolute YES.” He then continued with the following rant, “Stay tuned, I will have a major announcement in the near future-Kid Rock.” The web site domain was created and registered in February of this year.
Kid hasn’t exactly confirmed that he is running, but so far, he seems serious. Now, this could all be a publicity stunt, like when Alice Cooper said he was running for President last year, or when Joe Walsh ran every four years in the 1970’s and 1980’s. We will see. However, Kid has recently been to the White House as a guest of President Trump, and is close to the President. If 2016 was any indicator about the success of celebrities in politics, I would think that he is serious, and going to go for it. We will keep you informed!
