As you all know, we just had Five Finger Death Punch here in Peoria for a sold out show with Shinedown and Sixx A.M. The show was amazing, from start to finish. All of the bands put on energetic, entertaining shows. Ivan Moody, lead singer of Five Finger, was on point here, and did a great show. However, things didn’t go so well in Worcester, Massachusetts last Friday night.
Ivan went on stage, and from the onset, things weren’t right. Moody made it through five songs, but then told the crowd that his Mother was “passing on today”, and that he was “too emotionally devastated” to continue the show. After the show wrapped, the band said it was “another family member”, NOT Ivan’s mother. Well, apparently, that wasn’t true either. Yep, it was one messy night.
‘Rockfeed’ spoke to Ivan’s sister, Sandi. and she said that, “Our Mother is alive and well. I believe that in my personal opinion that Ivan was drunk and used that as an excuse for his horrid behavior.” She also added that no one else in the family was sick. Fast forward to Saturday night, the next night on stage in Newark, New Jersey, and Ivan said that he had a “mental moment.” He also added that it had nothing to do with “alcohol, drugs, or any of it. True….I just melted down.” One thing is for sure, Ivan’s actions have been erratic for quite some time now. He’s been in and out of rehab. The rumors of drinking continue. He certainly has some things going on, and maybe the right solution is for the band to get off the road, and get him the proper help he needs. Obviously, the stress of staying on the road and performing can be overwhelming if you are struggling with dependencies. We all wish the best for Ivan, and the band here at the X.
