This new album from the Red Hot Chili Peppers is quite funky. You could say  it’s very ‘throwback’ sounding. There is elements of funk, new wave, disco, and classic hip hop. Of course, it’s all woven together, in Chili Pepper magic fashion, with Flea, Anthony, Chad and Josh doing their ‘thing.’ Yep, ‘The Getaway’ is vintage Chili Peppers, but this new album is also very ‘fresh’ sounding, and full of new sounds and ideas.

The second single from the ‘Getaway’ is the song ‘Go Robot.’ This song showcases all of those elements of classic funk, new wave, and even hip hop. It’s as if Stevie Wonder from 1975 is playing on this album. Here at the X, we have just debuted ‘Go Robot’, and we’re pretty damn excited about it! By the way, the Peppers have just announced a tour date in for St. Louis for January….say tuned for details on how you can be there!
