Dave Grohl is our ‘Ambassador of Rock’, as we all know. These days, it doesn’t seem to matter what award show it is, Dave Grohl is likely there making an appearance, an introduction, or a performance. Most of the time, he is doing this as a solo guy, and leaves the other Foo Fighter guys at home. Last night at the Academy Awards, he wowed everyone with a version of the Beatles classic ‘Blackbird.’

Dave paid tribute to those in the film industry who have passed away in the last year, with notable moments in the memorial given to David Bowie, and Leonard Nimoy. Dave nailed the song, with an awesome orchestra backing him up. Grohl, as we all know, is close with Sir Paul McCartney, and I’m sure Paul looked upon the performance fondly. Again, thank God for Dave Grohl, who waves the flag of ‘Rock’ better than anyone in the industry! Kudos, sir.
