Stone Temple Pilots Settle ‘Name’ Issues With Scott Weiland

Stone Temple Pilots appear to have se things straight in court with former lead singer Scott Weiland. The band, who for the last two years, have been rocking mightily with Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington in the lead position, can now just use the name, "Stone Temple Pilots." You see, they had to use the phrase, 'Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington' due to Weiland's legal ramifications and threats.

So, let's get this straight, STP can just be STP again, with Chester in the lead position. Hmmmm…yes, this is a bit confusing, and adds another layer with this band and their drama. Sadly, most rock fans liked Scott in the band, and obviously loved their amazing catalog of rock since 1992, with Weiland in the lead. However, as you may recall, years of drug abuse, arrests, rehab stints, breakups, and drama have made this relationship toxic and just plain overbearing for everyone, including the fans.

Weiland has been a great singer, he has raw skills, and is quite the showman on stage. However, the DeLeo Brothers have obviously had enough, and are excited to move forward with Chester Bennington. Chester can sing those legendary songs, but the band is recording new material with Chester, and they plan to tour as well. Weiland is also moving on with his new solo band, the "Wildabouts", and will have new music this year.

Confused yet? Yes, this should be a reality show.
