Bahan’s Top 5 Resurrection Artists-#1, Rage Against The Machine

This is a tough call to make, considering that Nirvana, STP, Soundgarden and others are all amazing 90′s based bands that are clearly in my top echelon of Resurrection artists. However, Rage Against The Machine stand alone as my all time favorite, due to their intense bad ass sound, and ballsy lyrics and message. The thing I love about Rage is that they are obsessed with kicking you in the nuts musically, and are very clear on their message of equality and human rights. Zach De La Rocha and Tom Morello are both human rights activists, and preach their blend of lyrical-musical fairness with a loud, abrasive, pissed off mentality. Too many liberals are soft, quiet, laid back and don’t take an aggressive approach, you can’t say that about Rage. Just listen to their lyrics in the songs “Killing In The Name Of”, “Bulls On Parade”, both songs call out hypocrisy in the world, call out political leaders, and demand change. Tom Morello just stood with the Union representatives in Wisconsin fighting for their collective bargaining rights this year. He has been arrested for protesting on multiple matters in the last fifteen years.  Musically, very few bands can hold a candle to Rage and their ability to jam. Who sounds like these guys? The answer is NO ONE. Tom Morello makes a guitar scream like no one else. Very few lead singers can carry a torch on stage like Zach De La Rocha. The rumors here in the Spring of 2011 is that Rage “may” get back together soon with new music, let’s hope they do. The world of rock music has been missing this intense band, and getting them back is good for the soul, and also good for your ears! The X will crank out plenty of Rage this weekend for the Resurrection. Enjoy this awesome live video of Rage!
